Our bungalows at the Royal Lanta are built in the traditional Thai architectural style. Our goal is to provide our guest with maximum comfort while experiencing the Thai culture. Each bungalow is built with high ceilings with hand made ceramic tiled roofs. Ceramic tiles not only make each bungalow look apart, it is also the most effective way to keep the heat out of the bungalow. We've even built a life-size traditional Thai house as a museum for our guests to view the culture from a local Thai's perspective. This is a resort experience you can only find in Koh Lanta, Thailand
Superior Bungalow: All 15 bungalows are located in the middle of the resort, near the Mountain View swimming pool. These Thai classical villas come with a private balcony enclosed by tropical gardens and views of the rainforest mountains. The room size is large enough for couples with 32 square meters and available in single or double beds. Rooms are decorated with teak wood furniture, fine Thai fabrics and wooden handicrafts. Room facilities include: Air conditioner; Fan; Cable TV; Refrigerator; Hot shower; Inside & Outside Shower.
Deluxe Bungalow: Located 30 meters from the beach, 8 deluxe bungalows are nested in the tropical greenish garden. These larger size Thai classical villas come with private balcony views of gardens, mountains and beachfront pool. The bigger room size with 42 square meters, a partitioned private living room and a day bed area. Bungalows are available in both single and double beds. Rooms are decorated with teak wood furniture, fine Thai fabrics and wooden handicrafts. Room facilities are the same as Superior category with these additions: sofa set and reclining chair.
Family Bungalow: 6 family bungalows are located in the center of the resort, surrounded by a tropical green garden. These Thai classical villas come with private balcony views of rainforest mountain. The room size is large enough for a family with 2 kids with a total of 36 square meter of living space, and contains a bunk bed and a separate king size bed with space for television set and shelf. Rooms are decorated with teak wood furniture, fine Thai fabrics and wooden handicrafts. Room facilities are the same as superior category.
Executive Bungalow: Only 2 bungalows nested in the green garden, closest to the beach. These Thai classical villas come with private balcony views of the swimming pool overlooking to the beach. The room size is bigger, at 42 square meters with private living area and king size bed. Rooms are decorated with teak wood furniture, fine Thai fabrics and wooden handicrafts. Room facilities are the same as deluxe category, with these additions: large size TV with DVD player; coffee maker; hair dryer.
Royal Executive Bungalow: 5 bungalows nested in the green garden and closet to the beach. These Thai classical villas come with private balcony views of the swimming pool overlooking to the beach. The room size is bigger, at 42 square meters with private living area and king size bed. Rooms decorated with teak wood furniture, fine Thai fabrics and wooden handicrafts. Facilities same as Executive Bungalow, with an extra large size bathroom, equipped with an outdoor Jacuzzi.
Mountain View Suite: 12 newly built Suite Rooms in the middle of a beautifully designed garden, surrounding the Mountain View swimming pool. These Thai classical villa come with private balcony with full view of refreshing rainforest mountain. The room size is bigger at 68 square meters with private living area and king size or twin bed option. Rooms decorated with teak wood furniture, fine Thai fabrics and wooden handicrafts. Beautiful large bathroom equipped with shower and Jacuzzi tub.

Our comment: Once Lanta's best high end resort, Royal Lanta still keeps pace admirably with its growing competition. The well manicured garden, glistening Thai roofs and discreet service make this a classic hotel, as opposed to a trendy, fashion-led place. Villas are tightly packed into the space, but the open beach front area along a nice stretch of Klong Dao make up for this. Suites are only worth the extra money if you are travelling with children and need the extra space; otherwise honeymooners should opt for the Royal Executive units, which are beachfront and have a large jacuzzi tub.
