Lanta Longbeach Resort and its neighbour, Lanta Nakara Resort, are hard to tell apart, as they are run by the same family and even share a swimming pool and reception area (though they each have their own restaurant). In fact it is not clear why there are two separate resorts at all, though as they are marketed as such, we must follow their lead.

Longbeach is the older of the two, located on the left-hand side (facing the sea), with 79 pleasant wooden bungalows fairly tightly packed along winding footpaths behind the sand. There are two main categories of room: standard (smaller, with high ceilings) and deluxe (larger and nearer to the beach). Both categories offer air con and private western-style bathroom. The 3 beachfront and 2 luxury bungalows are located the closest to the beach and are slightly larger with a double and a single bed in each, but otherwise are the same as the deluxe rooms.

The bungalows are spotlessly clean, though they are all somewhat open to the elements, with lots of (mosquito blind covered) ventilation in the bedrooms and large open air bathrooms. Each has large french windows opening out onto a small terrace. The natural materials used - wood, bamboo - make everything feel very cosy. Two points to note: there are no televisions in any of the rooms; and a few of the deluxe rooms can also be inter-connecting (interior door), which means a family or group of up to 6 people can stay all together.

The beach front swimming pool (built at the same time as Nakara Resort) is nicely decked and reasonably large (though it does get crowded in peak season). The resort itself is located a little way out of Phra Ae village, next to the posh Layana Resort. It would be around 10 - 15 minutes walk to get to the bars and restaurants there, though there are also options nearby on the beach.

Reservation Policy
Prices are given in Thai baht and are per room per night, based on 2 people sharing. Prices include American breakfast (ABF), service charge and VAT. Maximum of 3 adults in one room. Child Policy: No charge for children under 4 years of age sharing room with parents, children aged between 4 – 12 years old will be charged 50% of extra bed rate. Adults and children 12 years and up must take an extra bed. Baby cot available free of charge, subject to availability. A minimum stay of 3 nights is required during peak season (20 Dec - 15 Jan).

Compulsory Gala Dinners:
All guests in-house on 24 December and 31 December 2008 will be charged 1500 baht / adult and 750 baht /child (4-12 years) per day.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations will be subject to a 10% charge. In addition, any confirmed booking cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival will be charged a further one night's stay. In case of early checkout, notice must be received by the resort at least 24 hours prior to departure, or the guest will forfeit one night\s stay. Late arrivals will be charged for unused nights. No-shows will not be refunded.
