Lanta Il Mare Resort is on the northern stretch of Klong Nin beach, next to the new five-star Rawi Warin Resort - though the beach in front of the resort, accessed via a bridge over a canal, is nice and sandy, unlike the rocky coast of its posh neighbour. This whole section of Klong Nin has gone somewhat upmarket in recent months, with a new shopping / eating "mall" and more in the way of street life, which is good for evening entertainment.

The resort itself remains nice and friendly, with well-maintained, clean rooms and a small swimming pool. There are several room categories to accommodate different types of travellers, which also gives the resort a more mixed atmosphere than most. The Deluxe bungalows come with twin singles or one double bed and are located towards the back of the resort coming from the beach (or near the front, road entrance and car park). Like all the rooms in the resort, they have the followng facilities: 2 terraces, front and back (a nice design, offering different options for outdoor lounging, or meaning you don't have to dry your towels in the same place as enjoy your evening drink), air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and fridge, dressing table, hairdryer, wardrobe and hot water shower in the bathroom. Overall, the rooms are light and airy.

The other rooms in the deluxe category are very similar, just slightly closer to the beach. The Deluxe garden view bungalows are in the second row back from the beach and pool; the 9 Deluxe beachfront bungalows are on the first row, with full sea view; both come with double or twin beds.

The 2 Family seaview suites are in the second row, but closest to pool. The suites are effectively a private house with 2 connecting a/c rooms (one double and one twin) sharing one bathroom. The second room can be used as a guest room, or living room, as it contains a sofa set, TV and fan. Both rooms are similar in style to the Deluxe Garden View. There is also a double length private balcony with seating, though the sea view from here is partial.

Garden Villas are a new category, with king size beds only; they are free-standing and decorated in a slightly more luxurious style than the deluxe rooms - they are, however, as the name suggests, located in the garden - not next to the sea.

The resort restaurant is on the beach front and offers room service; there is also a beach bar, Thai massage service, tour agency, motorbike, jeep and speedboat rental, laundry service, facility for overseas calls and an internet cafe. There is a volleyball net strung out on the beach, as well kayaks for rent to explore the coastline.

Note: despite the name, there is no Italian connection at this resort! It is 100 per cent Thai-run.

Reservation Policy
Prices are given in Thai baht and are per room per night. Prices include breakfast for 2 persons, service charge and VAT. Extra bed price includes 1 breakfast.

Compulsory Gala Dinners:
24 Dec and 31 Dec – 1200 / 700 baht per adult / child 4 – 10yrs. Guests staying over both Christmas and New Year can choose to attend only 1 dinner (please specify which one when you book).

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations will be subject to a 10% charge. In addition, any confirmed booking cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival will be charged a further one night's stay. Early check out notified less than 14 days in advance will also be charged a further one night's stay. No-show: no refund will be given for unused nights.
