The Lanta Islands Guide: The Hotels

Here we present detailed reviews of some of our favourite resorts in Ko Lanta, with pictures and rates. Most of the accommodation here is in bungalows, with some low-rise buildings; and almost all is right next to the sand - unlike on the mainland coastal resort of Ao Nang. The reviews are based on our own, unannounced visits to the resorts and the pictures for the most part are just what we found - and what you can expect to see - rather than the glossy professional shots for the brochures.

We will add more reviews over the coming months; in the meantime if you don't see a resort you are interested in listed here, do send us an email , as we are able to provide information about and book almost any hotel on the island.

Please note that many hotels close during the low season (May- October inclusive); if this is the case, it will be indicated in the table below.

Hotels and resorts in Ko Lanta

Note: Family room denotes a room for 4 or more people; most resorts in Ko Lanta offer triple rooms as standard. The style/ vibe category is based on type of accommodation and management - "local" meaning family-run and "resort" run by trained staff in uniforms. "Boutique" here means a very small place, often run by previous city-dwellers, high on style and personal attention. A heart symbol indicates a personal favourite.
