Golden Bay Cottages is a small, 31 room resort with plenty of open space and a wide beachfront area. Because of this, the bungalows are well-spaced so you do not feel you are living on top of your neighbour. As with most resorts in Ko Lanta, gradual evolution and upgrading means there are several room categories available, ranging from the oldest bungalows (standard) to the newest (deluxe).

The 11 deluxe cottages, 4 of which have a bathtub, are located closest to the beach and most have at least a partial sea view from the terrace. Inside, they are nicely decoarted with a vaulted ceiling, light wood furniture and quite a modern, clean feel. There is a daybed / sofa in these rooms that could serve as an extra bed for a third adult or child. Those rooms that do not have a bathtub include a small dressing area with wardrobe in the bathroom - leaving more space in the main room; the shower is also separated so water does not go all over the bathroom floor.

6 superior cottages are located, strangely at the back of the resort, around 70m from the beach, though they are all facing the sea. They are in the second category because they are were built relatively recently, though in the standard local fashion: tiled floors, basic furniture, bathroom with toilet and no enclosure around the shower. They have a fan as well as an air conditioning unit, TV and fridge.

The 14 standard cottages are the oldest in the resort, though they are still clean and reasonably well maintained. The bathroom is small, with no separate shower enclosure, though the sink is outside in the bedroom. These rooms do not have a fridge, though they have a TV.

Golden Bay also offers the usual beachfront restaurant, where breakfast is served, as well as meals and snacks throughout the day; a tour and internet counter; and a bar. There are also nice shady trees under which to relax and read a book in the heat of the afternoon.

Reservation Policy
Prices are given in Thai Baht and are per room per night, based on 2 people sharing. One extra bed can be added to any room. All room and extra bed prices are inclusive of service charge and tax, and American breakfast. All rooms have hot water shower, satellite TV, and daily cleaning service.

Compulsory gala dinner surcharge per person:
24 Dec: 1700 / 850 adult / child under 11 years
31 Dec: 2100 / 950 adult / child under 11 years

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations will be subject to a 10% charge. During 1 Nov – 15 Dec and 16 Mar – 30 Apr, there will be a further charge of one night’s stay for any cancellation notified less than 15 days prior to arrival. During 16 Dec – 15 Mar, there will be a further charge of one night’s stay for any cancellation notified less than 25 days prior to arrival. No-shows and early check out will be refunded (if at all) at the discretion of the hotel.
