Blue Andaman Lanta Resort
Klong Kong (or Khlong Khong, Klong Koang) is one of Koh Lanta's overlooked and underrated beaches. There are however some fine little resorts on this beach, usually offering excellent value for money. Blue Andaman Lanta is one of these.
Another of the local Lanta family-run places, Blue Andaman offers typical concrete bungalow accommodation, with a new 2 storey hotel block at the back of the complex. The bungalows are arranged in neat rows perpendicular to the beach, which means the sea is just about visible from every terrace. Those bungalows especially close to the beach - and the new swimming pool - are called Beachfront, though they are identical inside to all the others.
All rooms are air conditioned and have hot water, fridge and TV. They are plainly furnished and well-maintained with the usual tile floors, all-in-one bathroom with hot shower, and garish curtains. The hotel rooms at the back of the resort (around 150m from the beach) are very similar in style; those on the upper floor have a partial sea view from the balcony and can be inter-connecting. 16 rooms have a double and a single bed, these are called Family a/c, and can sleep a maximum of 3 people.
Resort facilities include a beach front restaurant and bar - the groovy Sound Shack, a Koh Lanta favourite; the usual ticketing and tour counter; laundry service; Thai massage pavilions overlooking the water; overseas calls; car parking; and bike and car rental. The beach in front of the resort is swimmable only at high tide; at low tide the beach is quite rocky. Both sand and water are very clean.
